Montreal Canadiens Hot Streak Has Them Near Top Of Atlantic Division Power Rankings
The Detroit Red Wings are quickly being outed as the worst team in the National Hockey League. However, this week they were able to string together a pair of wins this week for the first time since their first two games of the season.
They started their week with an embarrassing loss to another cellar dweller. The New York Rangers are among the bottom teams in the Eastern Conference but they smashed the Red Wings 5-1 on Wednesday night. The Wings then took out the Boston Bruins somehow with a 4-2 victory on home ice and then beat the Vegas Golden Knights 3-2 at home as well.
It is as impressive a week as we have seen from the Red Wings. However, it wasn’t enough to move them out of the basement of the Atlantic Division. They improved their record to 6-12-1 but their -30 goal differential is awful for a team that has played a full season. For a team to be outscored by 30 goals after playing 19 is mind bogglingly terrible.
