The Montreal Canadiens played three games last week and gathered five of the six available points in the standings. How did it affect them in the latest Atlantic Division Power Rankings?

The Montreal Canadiens have finally gone on a bit of a run this season. They started the year going back and forth with wins and losses and staying in the middle of the standings for the first few weeks of the season.

Last week, the Canadiens went 2-0-1 in three games, beating the Los Angeles Kings and Boston Bruins and losing to the Philadelphia Flyers in overtime. This extends their run to a 5-1-1 stretch in the last seven games and has them with the second best points percentage in the Atlantic Division.

The Bruins have been atop the division since day one of the regular season, but they have finally stumbled a bit for the first time. They lost all three of their games last week, but remain firmly in first place in the division standings.

The Buffalo Sabres have lost five straight games after losing both contests to the Tampa Bay Lightning in Sweden last week. The Toronto Maple Leafs and Florida Panthers continue to add points in the bank while exhibiting bad tendencies and the Detroit Red Wings and Ottawa Senators maintain their positions at the bottom even though they played well in the last seven days.

How does it all affect the Atlantic Division Power Rankings? Take a look here and see where the Canadiens rank after going on a hot stretch for the past two weeks.
