Montreal Canadiens forward Jonathan Drouin could be moved.

Another boom or bust type of forward the Montreal Canadiens could be open to trading is Jonathan Drouin. Canadiens head coach Martin St. Louis has not used him night in and night out. He has instead opted to use him here and there.

Through the Habs’ first five games of the season, Drouin has found his way into three games. He’s tallied two assists and been able to settle in. Drouin has played alongside Kirby Dach and Josh Anderson, getting it done with those two as his linemates.

While his fantastic pass against the Pittsburgh Penguins was with the top unit, it was still a showing of the success he has been able to find early on. To this point, Drouin has been able to show off some solid abilities in the offensive zone.

He’s looked more comfortable. Drouin has been able to pick up assists, being able to find the open man, and connect with his linemates or whoever he’s within the offensive zone. Here’s the setup from the Habs’ game against the Penguins, where he got the job done to help Caufield convert.

Drouin has been looking good, and if he can continue to perform this well, he may be on the trade block. If a team calls about him, he should be made available and be someone the Habs are willing to part ways with.

After all, he’s an unrestricted free agent this offseason. If the Habs trade him with hopes of adding some draft capital or recouping some return that helps the future of his hockey club, then Drouin should be on the block this season.
