Montreal Canadiens fans should keep an eye on forward Brendan Gallagher.

As the 2022-23 season draws near, veteran forward Brendan Gallagher could have a better season ahead. He has been able to get through the past few seasons with bumps and bruises. However, it feels like he will emerge on the right side of things this season.

He has had the chance to show he is healthy. With an entire offseason, he was able to use that time to recuperate and get on the right side of things in terms of his health. With a shortened season and a cup run, the Habs veteran has been battered and bruised.

For the Habs, looking ahead is key when it comes to Gallagher. After finishing last in the 2022-23 season, he has had time to come back this year with a vengeance. He’s slated to be with the Habs through the 2026-27 season.

He’s on a contract that carries a $6.5 million AAV for the next five seasons. It’s far from the cheapest price for a 30-year-old forward. After all, things are not going to get better and better, but this year could still see a resurgence in performance.

There’s a chance that he could have used that time off to get healthy and bounce back nicely in 2022-23. For the veteran winger, it will be interesting to see how the upcoming season treats him.

After all, he said he would love to finish his career in Montreal but has expressed his desire and interest in winning a Stanley Cup Championship. Keep an eye on Gallagher as the 2022-23 season could play a role in his future with the Habs.
