Top 3 Montreal Canadiens away games to get excited for in 2022-23

November 25th, 2022: Montreal Canadiens at Chicago Blackhawks
Perhaps one of the games that Kirby Dach will have circled as the 2022-23 season gets underway will be the team’s first matchup with the Chicago Blackhawks that brings him back to Chicago. He was an offseason acquisition from the Blackhawks, who is looking for his breakout season in 2022-23.
On Black Friday, the Canadiens will be in Chicago taking on the Blackhawks and seeing a familiar face across the bench from Martin St. Louis. The Chicago Blackhawks hired former Habs assistant Luke Richardson this offseason, crowning him the new bench boss.
So it will be different for them to see the former assistant coach behind the opposing bench. As A Winning Habit’s Ken MacMillan noted this summer, Richardson was dealt a tough hand with his new organization.
The Black Friday matchup will be fun to see how Richardson is managing his new squad to that point and interesting to see how the Habs match up against the Blackhawks. This will also be a chance for the Habs to go up 1-0 on the season matchup with the Blackhawks.
Chicago travels to Montreal in February of 2023. But, the November matchup will be a bit of a reunion for Dach with the Habs and Richardson with the Blackhawks.
