Jack Devine

Jack Devine’s offensive numbers are not going to jump off the page at you. But what he accomplished this season was quite impressive nonetheless.

In 2020-21, he played at the United States Development Program but wasn’t a top line option. He plays a strong defensive game but does create plenty of offence with his smarts and speed. He put up 20 points in 30 games for the Under-18 program in 20-21 and then moved on to college hockey this season.

He played on a stacked Denver Pioneers team and carved out a third line winger role. He played on a line with Habs prospect Brett Stapley for much of the season, which put him in a very defensive heavy role. Devine also put up 19 points in 36 games, and helped Denver win a national title in his first college season.

Denver will see a mass exodus of talent this offseason, and Devine will be in line for a huge bomb in ice time, and with it, likely production as well. He is ranked late second round to third round by many and would be a great pickup by the Canadiens who likely saw plenty of him while watching Stapley this season.
