The Ottawa Senators season has basically gone according to plan. They have tons of youth looking to earn bigger roles on the roster, but many of them are still developing in the minors as the Senators losses pile up.

Veterans like Anthony Duclair, J.G. Pageau, Bobby Ryan, Vladislav Namestnikov, Nikita Zaitsev and Ron Hainsey are playing big roles, but likely aren’t going to be around for a long time. The time will come when this team is led by Colin White, Logan Brown, Thomas Chabot, Erik Brannstrom and Drake Batherson. Most of those players are already here but they aren’t ready to dominate the NHL yet.

Last week, the Senators the Boston Bruins and were taken out 5-2. They are technically still in the basement of the division, but should be able to jump over the Red Wings once they get caught up on games played.
