3-2-0. Previous: 7th. Detroit Red Wings. 7. team. 72.

The Detroit Red Wings were projected to be a bottom feeder in not just the Atlantic Division, but the entire National Hockey League standings this season. They started well, winning against the Nashville Predators and Dallas Stars, but have gone 1-2-0 in the past week.

They sandwiched losses to the Anaheim Ducks and Toronto Maple Leafs around a win over the Montreal Canadiens during the Habs home opener. They have gotten production from their top line of Anthony Mantha, Dylan Larkin and Tyler Bertuzzi but have not received much depth scoring at all.

They are heading out to western Canada this week to take on the Edmonton Oilers, Calgary Flames and Vancouver Canucks. It’s always a difficult trip for teams in the eastern time zone and I’m guessing the Red Wings will quickly drop from fourth overall in their division.

Current Lineup:
Tyler Bertuzzi – Dylan Larkin – Anthony Mantha

Luke Glendenning – Andreas Athanasiou – Taro Hirose

Christoffer Ehn – Valtteri Filppula – Adam Erne

Darren Helm – Jacob De La Rose – Justin Abdelkader

Danny DeKeyser – Filip Hronek

Patrik Nemeth – Mike Green

Dennis Cholowski – Madison Bowey

Jimmy Howard
