The Ottawa Senators were not expected to win many games this season and thus far, they have one win in five games. The odd thing is, the Senators beat the Tampa Bay Lightning which is the last team you would expect them to be able to pull out a win against.

However, they followed up their first win of the year by losing to the Minnesota Wild. Up until that win last night, the Wild were the only team in the National Hockey League without a point in the standings. So, the Senators found a way to beat a team they shouldn’t have and then lost to one of the few teams they should beat.

They did pick up Vladislav Namestnikov in a trade from the New York Rangers, but they are going to need way more help than that to move out of the basement of the Atlantic Division power rankings.

Current Lineup:
Brady Tkachuk – Colin White – Tyler Ennis

Vladislav Namestnikov – J.G. Pageau – Connor Brown

Anthony Duclair – Chris Tierney – Bobby Ryan

Mikkel Boedker – Jordan Szwarz – Scott Sabourin

Thomas Chabot – Nikita Zaitsev

Erik Brannstrom – Ron Hainsey

Matt Borowiecki – Dylan DeMelo

Craig Anderson
