Ari Shapiro (Toronto Maple Leafs) and Kamal Rehman (Montreal Canadiens) are back for Episode 2 of Habsfan vs Leafsfan. A little bit of Johnny Bower, David Schlemko, and even a Donald Trump cameo.

Habsfan vs Leafsfan – Season 2 Episode 2 (Montreal Canadiens vs Toronto Maple Leafs).

We’re slowly getting closer to the start of the NHL regular season as we find ourselves in the month of September. Meaning fans of the Montreal Canadiens and the Toronto Maple Leafs will be able to see their teams in action soon.

So what is on this week’s episode of Habsfan vs Leafsfan? Let’s just say it started out very strong. It took some under the table promises and a couple of investments, but the podcast was able to obtain exclusive audio from Montreal’s fanfest at the Bell Centre.

Listeners will also find interest in the first debate between the Ari and Kamal on Leafs goaltending of the past. Ironically, it came off an initial discussion on the Maple Leaf’s decision to change the name of the Air Canada Centre to Scotiabank Arena (2:28).

Ari continued the discussion on Leafs goaltending by looking at the transition of players to man the net for the team from the 60’s to the present day in Frederik Andersen (11:30). Kamal took a different route breaking down the different aspects of Montreal Canadiens upcoming training camp that fans should be optimistic about (9:40).

Finally, it wouldn’t be Habsfan vs Leafsfan without an exclusive interview (13:41). This week had Colin Teskey (@TeskeyRadio) of the Fan590 and 90.5 FM to serve up some takes of the hot variety on both the Habs and the Leafs for the upcoming season.
