To start the week, the Montreal Canadiens joined the NHL in unveiling a new look. The highly anticipated Hometown Remix jerseys have been released.
As part of the release, the Canadiens revealed an all-white jersey that included a white logo across the chest. Cole Caufield was the model for the new look, including a video in which he got to see it for the first time and try it on.
"Can we wear these every game?" he asked in the video/

The video helped show more details in full. The name and number are in red. These are entirely new number fonts inspired by the "iconography of Old Montreal."
Stripes of red, white and blue are on the arms. According to the official announcement, the symbols lined up down the sleeves are nods to features of the city: white pine, fleur-de-lis, rose, thistle and clover,
While the official announcement on their website doesn't mention this, one of the videos had a nice Montreal-related Easter egg. If you look closely at the first video that introduces the Hometown Remix jerseys, you'll see a brief shot of Montreal bagels about halfway through.
It's a fitting choice to slide it in there. Montreal is the one city with bagels that actually beat out New York, and the world needed that subconscious reminder. It's not even on the jersey, but there had to be some nod to the iconic food somewhere.
Lastly, the Canadiens announced 10 games in which they'll wear the new look. They'll debut on Nov. 3, when the Canadiens host the Winnipeg Jets.
The two games are on the road against their new biggest rivals, the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Boston Bruins, and the rest are at home.

Full Thoughts on the New Canadiens Look
I took a day to sit on this new look and digest it. The fact that it's a white jersey isn't anything crazy in particular. White, in general, is as vintage as it gets.
If you look at the new white jersey and red pants from a distance, it's not going to excite you much. Unless you really like a nearly all-white look. Then, you'll have a field day.
Should you see them while watching the game on TV, you're likely not going to be wowed by what you're seeing.
Where the flair comes from is the small designs. You have to be able to look at the jersey up close to appreciate what it's trying to do. If you're able to look at the texture of the C and H on the chest and the small symbols on the sleeves, then you'll start to be intrigued.
There's even a hidden fleur-de-lis on the number on the back. That's how fine they got with the details. A 3D model on the NHL team store online cetainly won't do it justice.
