Cruz Lucius

First of all, he has the best name in draft, doesn’t he? Cruz cruising down the wing is a line announcers would love to use. Anyway, he is more than a cool name.

Lucius played this season with the United States Development Program, and though he wasn’t one of their top players, he put up impressive numbers. He scored 18 points in just 23 games for them and was a standout at the World Under-18 tournament as well.

At the Under-18s, Lucius scored two goals and eight points in six games for the United States, helping them win a silver medal. He is a skilled right shot, right winger and has decent size at 6’0″ and 183 pounds. He will be drafted well after teammates like Rutger McGroarty, Isaac Howard and  Jimmy Snuggerud but he isn’t that far behind them offensively.

He battled injuries early in the season, but was really strong late in the year, showing there is plenty of offence to his game. He could become a key middle six scoring winger for a team in the future which is great value considering he could fall to the third or fourth round.
