Los Angeles Kings

The Los Angeles Kings are also in the market for a left defenceman. They have jumpstarted they rebuild by acquiring Viktor Arvidsson and Phillip Danault last offseason and they could even start the playoffs on home ice in a wide open Pacific Division.

The Kings have a chance to make some noise in this year’s playoffs, and gain some experience for their impressive group of young players that are already in the NHL.

A little more veteran savvy on the blue line would help, and Chiarot would fit perfectly in the team’s top four.

The Kings are deep everywhere with young talent and prospects. They probably have the best group of young players in the NHL. The Canadiens could really use help at centre or on right defence and the Kings have depth at both of those positions.

With Drew Doughty signed forever, and Matt Roy and Sean Walker also on the right side and signed for three seasons, there isn’t a lot of room for their young, right shot blue liners to work their way into the lineup.

Jordan Spence is one of those young players who will have a hard time finding a full time role with the Kings in the near future. Even with Walker and Roy injured, Sean Durzi was called up and played well, showing where Spence lays on the depth chart.

Spence is doing everything he can, as the 21 year old has scored 42 points in 46 AHL games for the Ontario Reign this season. Though he was a fourth round pick, and is not huge for an NHL defenceman at 5’10, Spence has a ton of talent and could be the replacement for Petry that this team will need in the near future.
