The Montreal Canadiens and Winnipeg Jets are now in Montreal to play back-to-back games tonight and tomorrow.

Depending on who wins these two games, it could completely change the momentum of the series, or end it.

The Canadiens are on a five-game winning streak and will look to extend it to six and possibly seven games, while the Jets will be fighting for a win tonight to prevent facing elimination tomorrow.

No changes are expected in the Canadiens’ lineup tonight, but with back-to-back games, coach Dominique Ducharme might want to get some fresh legs on the ice tomorrow. It could be Alexander Romanov’s chance to finally make an appearance this postseason, or Tomas Tatar‘s shot at showing that he belongs in the lineup.

On the other hand, Jets forward Paul Stastny travelled to Montreal with the team after being out for the first two games of the series with an undisclosed injury. It remains uncertain if he will be in the lineup for either of these games, but it’s a possibility, and if he is back, the Canadiens will have to be careful as it could mean a completely different game for the Jets’ part.

The Canadiens’ projected lineup is:

Toffoli-Suzuki-Caufield
Lehkonen-Danault-Gallagher
Byron-Kotkaniemi-Anderson
Armia-Staal-Perry

Chiarot-Weber
Edmundson-Petry
Kulak-Gustafsson

Price
Allen

With Toffoli having scored a goal last game, the only goal for that matter, it will be important to keep an eye on him. Everyone knows that when Toffoli is hot, he is unstoppable, so I wouldn’t be surprised if he scored another goal or got a couple of points tonight.

And, of course, just like he has been this postseason, Carey Price will be a big part of the game, if not the biggest. All the Canadiens need to do to make his life easier and get closer to the third round is to score a few goals.

All lines have been generating good chances, so it’s hard to tell which line will be more prominent. But no matter what happens, it should be a fun Game 3, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see some overtime.
