The B Grades

B +. Ben Chiarot quietly put together a solid offensive month. He had two goals and eight points which ties him with Nick Suzuki and Artturi Lehkonen for fourth on the team in November. The problem when you aren’t a great skater is a small mistake can make you look really bad on tv. Chiarot was the victim of a couple of turnovers that led to odd-man rushes and goals against, but he was solid at both ends of the ice for most of the month.. LD. Montreal Canadiens. BEN CHIAROT

Montreal Canadiens. VICTOR METE. B. Mete finally scored his first goal of the season in October and his confidence from that has carried him through November. His skating was always a strength but looks better than ever and he handles a top four role with ease whether he is playing with Jeff Petry or Shea Weber. Unfortunately he was injured in the last game of the month because he was deservedly playing important minutes for the Habs.. LD

B. Armia was a shrewd acquisition by Marc Bergevin and is paying dividends this season. He plays such a smart, two-way style and wins puck battles along the boards better than most NHL players. He scored three goals and five points in 13 games but it is his defensive play that really stands out and makes him a valuable winger.. RW. Montreal Canadiens. JOEL ARMIA

B -. Gallagher did not have his best month. As the heartbeat of the Habs, he needs to bring his intensity and effort on every night. He did for most games in November, but not all of them and the Canadiens can’t afford to be missing his production. He had three goals and seven points, but has set the bar far higher than what we saw from him for the last two weeks.. RW. Montreal Canadiens. BRENDAN GALLAGHER

NICK SUZUKI. B -. Suzuki had some great games in November and showed he has the ability to play center or right wing just as effectively. However, he somewhat disappeared in a few of the losses late in the month and finished up with three goals and eight points in 13 games. Solid for sure, especially for a rookie just proving he can be a top six player at this level but a bit more consistency is needed.. RW. Montreal Canadiens
