Detroit Red Wings. 8. team. 72. . 7-16-3. Previous: 8th

The Detroit Red Wings had their best week of the season a week ago. The past seven days were not so kind. The Wings had four games and lost all four of them, failing to even secure a single point in that span.

Not only did the Red Wings lose four in a row, but they lost to some poor competition along the way. They fell 4-3 to the Ottawa Senators, then lost 5-4 to the Columbus Blue Jackets before being taken out 5-1 by the New Jersey Devils and finally they were shutout by the Carolina Hurricanes. The Hurricanes are off to a good start but the other three teams are far from playoff contention.

Before this skid, the Red Wings had gone 3-0-2 in their previous five games which was their best stretch of the year. Four quick losses in regulation in a row and they remain buried the cellar of the Atlantic Division after showing a few signs of life.

Last week’s record: 0-4-0
