72. . 7-12-3. Previous: 8th. Detroit Red Wings. 8. team

The Detroit Red Wings just had their best week of the entire season. Still, they lost two of the three games they played. I think that tells you more than enough about the state of things in Detroit these days.

The Red Wings went to extra time in all three of their games this week, beating the Anaheim Ducks 4-3 in overtime, losing 3-2 to the Los Angeles Kings in extra time and falling 4-3 to the San Jose Sharks in a shootout.

It wasn’t exactly the toughest competition you can find around the National Hockey League, but it was a successful week for the Wings grabbing points in all three games and coming away with a 1-0-2 record for the week.

Last week’s record: 1-0-2
