1) What do the Montreal Canadiens have to do to ensure a spot in the playoffs this season?

Dillon ‘Dom’ Dominique: First of all they have to have every player firing on all cylinders but as far as what they need to improve strategically is getting more bodies in front. Against Chicago, they seemed to never have a screen in front of Corey Crawford but against Philly, they were screening Carter Hart far more often.

Weber’s goal is a great example. I would say the power play, but that doesnt look like it’ll fixed anytime soon.

Joshua Delorme: Ensuring a playoff spot is definitely something that will be difficult. The biggest issue for me is the team’s recent play. While they won their last game in Philadelphia, the team’s play since the beginning of March has me worried.

If it wasn’t for the play of Carey Price, it could have been much worse. Anybody who knows me or has heard me on my podcast (shameless plug) knows that I think this roster composition was flawed from the beginning. I believe that the recent slip in production just shows that many players are going back to their realistic production numbers.

The coaching staff can continue to rotate bottom pairing defencemen or fourth line forwards from game to game, but realistically for a team that struggles so much to score and create offence that will not make a big difference. Here’s to hoping Columbus loses a few games down the stretch!
