The frustration is continuing to climb for both Ari and Kamal as the Montreal Canadiens, and Toronto Maple Leafs find themselves in a tough bind.

Habsfan vs. Leafsfan – Season 2 Episode 22 (Montreal Canadiens vs. Toronto Maple Leafs).

We’ve got another movie in the HvL Cinematic Universe. You’re heard of Mike Babcock: The Untouchable One, Max Pacioretty: The Unheralded One, and now the podcast brings you Roman Polak: The Unwanted One (0:00). Don’t think that this is a Leafs exclusive film as Marc Bergevin has made some calls into the veteran defenceman as well.

Things transition from there into a talk on what NHL coaches value in players. It seems the veteran warrior types such as Polak and Karl Alzner are love by coaches like Babcock and Claude Julien which in some ways have affected their ability to win (2:18). It’s more in the case of Julien and the Habs which makes it worse when you consider the state Mark Bergevin has put the team in based on his recent moves.

Ari took his rant talk about the synergy of poor decisions that are costing the Leafs wins (13:36). The playoffs are almost a guarantee, but the organization is still being built up to be a long self-sustaining group filled to the brim with success. So the question is, when will the things that need to be done, be done?

Kamal, on the other hand, is a simple guy. He wants the Montreal Canadiens to lose (15:01). As hurtful as that sounds, that would give the Habs some sense of direction and a chance to draft high. There isn’t going to be any benefit of finishing in the middle of the pack. Here’s the team’s chance to start building through the draft.
