It was an emotionally charged episode of Habsfan vs. Leafsfan as the Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Maple Leafs continue their thought-provoking seasons.

Habsfan vs. Leafsfan – Season 2 Episode 15 (Montreal Canadiens vs. Toronto Maple Leafs).

HvL had an important message to share on this latest episode. Auston Matthews played his 100th career game on Tuesday, and the podcast had exclusive audio from the ceremony (0:00). Not only was Brendan Shanahan there, but mayor John Tory and even Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had something to say.

Considering how last Saturday’s game went, you can bet that the emotions were front and center between the boys (2:07). Habs management was another topic of discussion in this banter, how long before fans move on from what they had in the past? The team is continuing to struggle, so maybe it never happens.

More from Editorials

Ari took his rant to dive into the idea of the trap game (10:41). Just because you’re higher in the standings, doesn’t mean you should ease up on the competition. Those kinds of games have a knack for sneaking up on teams.

Kamal is desperately trying to stay positive despite all the negativity around the Montreal Canadiens (11:59). Carey Price and David Schlemko and traveling, Brendan Gallagher and Paul Byron and are still sparking the group, but besides that, what else is there to be happy about?

Episode 15 finished off with interviews from the show’s affiliates A Winning Habit and Puck Prose. I (@OLW93) hopped on and had a heated rant on how things with the Habs are going (13:30) while site expert Dave Stevenson (@baltimoredavey) hoped on to give his thoughts on both sides (22:47). Additionally, there’s been some talk on Shea Weber to the Leafs, and Josh Tessler (@JoshTessler) gets into it with Ari on whether that would be a good move (19:20).
