Ari Shapiro (Toronto Maple Leafs) and Kamal Rehman (Montreal Canadiens) dive into the storm hovering over the team with Andrew Berkshire hanging around to give his thoughts on the situation.

Habsfan vs Leafsfan – Season 2 Episode 11 (Montreal Canadiens vs Toronto Maple Leafs).

It’s been already been 10 episodes of the podcast, and there are no signs of it slowing down. With the success of its first rendition, the boys managed to put together another general manager translator (0:00). Members of the hockey world rarely say what they really think anyway, take advantage of this tool from HvL.

As tough as it is to admit, the Leafs and the Habs are at polar extremes at the moment (2:05). Although they ended their recent game against the Florida Panthers, things are still not looking clear for Montreal. There have been a lot of unconventional moves made in the past which could give rise to unconventional moves in the future. Marc Bergevin may find himself facing the most heat by the end of the season.

More from Editorials

Frederik Andersen has continuously shown to be a great addition for the Leafs. Despite that, Ari is still not convinced yet that he can be referred to as an elite goaltender in the NHL (7:30). The offence is dangerous and the defence is continuing to grow, but if the Leafs plan on being a contender, Andersen will have to bring his game to that level.

There are more trade rumours around the Montreal Canadiens with Alex Galchenyuk, and Kamal doesn’t understand them (8:45). Teams such as the Pittsburgh Penguins and New York Rangers have had apparent interest in acquiring him to add to their center depth. Do they make sense? Kamal doesn’t think so.

The podcast finished with a content filled interview with Andrew Berkshire (@AndrewBerkshire), contributor to @Sportsnet, @RDSca, @VICESports, and @sn_nhl (10:07). Not only did the boys talk about the gameplay of the Habs, but Berkshire also provided information around the organization that most fans probably haven’t heard.
