The Montreal Canadiens are looking to break out of this losing slump Tuesday night on home ice against the Florida Panthers.
Lion King has to be one of the most memorable Disney movies of all time. A big lesson of the film was to face your past and learn from it (Rafiki was a great character). It’s easy to say that the Montreal Canadiens should burn all the tapes and start fresh. However, the only way they can improve is to acknowledge what they were doing wrong, and make sure history doesn’t repeat itself.
Tonight will be the debut of the new lines and parings the Habs will be running. Each, in terms of the forward lines, has an offensive threat on it. They just have to make sure that they can capitalize on the chances they get. As for the defence pairings, be responsible!
Of all the lineup changes, fans should have their eyes on the “fourth line”. Although it seems like a demotion, playing Alex Galchenyuk with Nikita Scherbak and Michael McCarron could work out to be a smart strategy to win on some matchups.

Carey Price had a rare stick-smashing event towards the end of the Anaheim game, so you could tell he wasn’t happy with the game and his teammates. Some of the goals that have gone past him have been from weird bounces, but mostly poor coverage. Everyone needs to do their part to make sure that Florida’s time at the Bell Center is far from an easy experience.
The Panthers are coming off a 4-1 win against the Washington Capitals on Saturday. Montreal will have to make sure they contain that top line of Aleksander Barkov, Jonathan Huberdeau, and Evgeni Dadonov who has been putting up a lot of points for the team as of late.
If the Habs can duplicate their performance from the second period of the Anaheim game, they should be able to come out on top. Again it will come down to finishing on their chances and playing the right way.
