Ari Shapiro (Toronto Maple Leafs) and Kamal Rehman (Montreal Canadiens) discuss Bergevin’s next move, back up goaltending, and season outcomes on episode 10.

Habsfan vs Leafsfan – Season 2 Episode 10 (Montreal Canadiens vs Toronto Maple Leafs).

It’s an interesting time in the Atlantic Division of the NHL. The Leafs are at the top, while the Habs are at the bottom. You can only imagine how this has impacted the dynamic of the show.

The podcast has been a great source for exclusive audio so far this year. Canadiens fans will be interested to know that episode 10 begins with recorded phone calls from Marc Bergevin (the power of surveillance). The Habs GM is trying to get something done to spark the team and Alex Galchenyuk‘s name has been floated around (0:00). General managers around the league had interesting responses to his offers and the vibrations were not good.

More from Editorials

It does seem like some kind of trade is coming for the Montreal Canadiens. Owner Geoff Molson has continuously voiced his confidence in Bergevin. The boys discuss what kind of move this could be (2:40). Additionally, goaltending has been a hot topic between both the Habs and the Leafs, especially in terms of usage in the schedule.

Expectations have been a thing the Leafs have tried to temper since the start of the season. Ari uses his rant spot to discuss how multiple winning streaks could excel them to a point they haven’t reached in years (11:55).

Despite all the negativity among the fan base right now, Kamal is keeping his cool (13:34). He dives into why Carey Price having lower numbers than usual is a good thing and at what point in the season the Habs can turn things around. You’ve heard of the TSN turning point in a game, well Kamal predicts which game will have the TSN turning point of the Habs’ season.
