On this week’s episode, Ari Shapiro (Toronto Maple Leafs) and Kamal Rehman (Montreal Canadiens) tackle Jonathan Drouin, George Parros, and more league-wide.

Habsfan vs Leafsfan – Season 2 Episode 3 (Montreal Canadiens vs Toronto Maple Leafs).

The Rookie Tournament is already underway and it started with the Habs and the Leafs going at it at Ricoh Coliseum. What a great way to commemorate that with a new episode of Habsfan vs Leafsfan.

Habs fans, have you ever wanted how the Jonathan Drouin went down? Well the podcast brings you exclusive audio between Marc Bergevin and Claude Julien when the Montreal Canadiens general manager broke the news (0:00).

More from Editorials

The banter between Leafsfan and Habsfan continues on going back to Drouin and his role on the team (2:10). Additionally, there are still question marks around the Leafs roster going into next season. The back-and-forth was pretty tame, until the topic turned to George Parros becoming head of NHL Player Safety and Leo Komarov.

Ari takes his rant time to break down what he’s looking for next season (8:05). It’s not necessarily a player on their own, but an aspect of their game that will be important during the year.

Did you hear that the Ottawa Senators are removing 1500 seats from their arena? Well Kamal surely did, and chose to rant about it, providing reasons as to why this happened and why the team can’t sell tickets (9:37).

This week, Editor in Leaf contributor Mike Stephens (@mikeystephens81) joined the boys to talk more Leafs (11:51). Martin Marincin and Roman Polak may be on the next season. That would be great for the Montreal Canadiens that’s for sure.
