The Montreal Canadiens couldn’t penetrate through the Pittsburgh Penguins Defense, and wound up loosing four to one. Also your daily Habs news, updates, and links from around the web.

The Montreal Canadiens started the game off slow last night, and than couldn’t catch up against the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Penguins Defense did a tremendous job of clogging the neutral zone, and making things difficult on the Habs. The Penguins also got a few timely saves for Goaltender Matt Murray.

The Canadiens lost their second straight game, and the main reason was because of their struggling offense. On Monday afternoon the Habs failed to find the score sheet against the Detroit Red Wings. That game looked very similar to Wednesday night’s loss to the Pens.

As a result of the Habs not being able to create many offensive opportunities, Head Coach Michel Therrien started to juggle the lines. He would even separate the Habs top line of Alexander Radulov, Alex Galchenyuk, and Max Pacioretty. The trio has looked very dangerous at times when united together, but hasn’t produced much the last two games.

The Canadiens will need their big guns to keep scoring if they want to lock down first place in the Atlantic Division. The Habs currently hold an eight point lead over their long time rival the Boston Bruins. The Canadiens do have two games in hand over the Bruins, but the Habs lead is slowly slipping away.
