Cammalleri On The Move… ??

According to sources close to the team – Micheal Cammalleri has played his last or next to last game in a Canadiens uniform.

Micheal Cammalleri left Saturday’s game against the Boston Bruins mid – way through the second period with an ‘ undisclosed ‘ ilness that was deemed to be the flu. Word is that Cammalleri has joined a contigent of players that have grown dissatisfied with Martin’s coaching ways and it came to a head in Saturday’s game. Micheal apparently feels ‘ stifled ‘ by Martin’s system and he is not the only player that feels that way.

The system was never brought into question until it became apparent that Martin more or else discouraged P. K Subban from being P. K. Subban. Cammalleri was one of the players that spoke out against the treatment bestowed upon P. K and Lapierre soon followed.

The team has been playing well lately but was in a major funk soon after Subban was benched for three games in December. Eller’s non – benching all season long also has played a key role in the player’s rebellion and sources say that Eller was benched as an ‘ Olive Branch ‘ by Martin in an effort to gain back his player’s respect. Too little to late .

Cammalleri had a brief exchange with Martin during Saturday’s game and shortly thereafter demanded a trade.

Havlat in Minnesota and Dustin Penner from Edmonton are two players mentioned so far as is Jerome Iginla from Calgary. Given the recent failure of a return trip to Calgary of Jokinen – a Cammalleri return seems silly unless the Habs are offering Kostisyn in the deal as well.

Kostisyn is another player that is on his way out . Andrei however ,  is not wanted anymore as the Habs organization has grown tired of his ‘ disappearing ways ‘ .

Barring last minute negotiations and a ‘ new role ” for the Habs number thirteen , all indications point to an ‘unlucky ‘ relationship.

The Habs are in New York to face the Rangers ce soir. Game time is 7 : 00 pm.
