With the Laval Rocket coming off a fantastic 2024-25 season, ending 48-19-5 and winning the Macgregor Kilpatrick Trophy Champion, best regular season record, the spotlight is firmly focused on the farm team's roster, as key pieces of the Canadiens' long-term puzzle.
1. Laurent Dauphin - C/LW
Native to Quebec, Laurent Dauphin finished off the 2024-25 regular season with a boom. Playing 63 games and tallying up an impressive 26 goals, 30 assists for a total of 56 points and a +25, all eyes are on him for the upcoming season. Dauphin is a veteran in Laval now, at 30 years old, and is known for his leadership and offensive skills, with experience in both the AHL and the NHL
2. Florian Xhekaj - D
21 years old and the younger brother of Canadien's player Arber Xhekaj, Florian is a tough player with strong defensive play and a great physical style. Playing 69 games last season, Florian scored 24 goals alongside 11 assists, totalling 35 points and going +10.
3. Jared Davidson - C
69 games played with 24 goals, 21 assists, and 45 points, and an impressive +/- of +25. Davidson is an energetic 23-year-old who's strong start elevated Laval's rise to the top. With excellent offensive production, this Winnipeg native has resulted in increased attention from the higher-ups.
4. Owen Beck - C
Another Canadian from Ontario, Owen Beck, is a 21-year-old with an impressive stat line as a smart Center. 15 goals, 29 assists for a total of 44 points in 64 games with a +10. Referred to as a two-way centre and known for his excellent hockey IQ, Beck is great at contributing to both ends of the ice as a reliable forward.
5. Sean Farrell - C/LW
Farrell had a breakout season in 2024-25, playing 67 games and scoring 20 goals with 24 assists for 44 points, along with a plus-minus of +8. Impressing viewers with his offensive consistency at just 23 years old, many sites have mentioned him as a top prospect to keep an eye on.
6. Joshua Roy - RW
An offensive-minded forward with a knack for scoring is a player who could rise through the ranks quickly. Roy’s blend of size, speed, and creativity makes him a strong candidate to make a push for a spot in Laval and, eventually, the NHL. Playing 47 games, he scored 20 goals, 15 assists for 35 points and a +/- of +3.
7. Adam Engstrom - D
At 21 years old, Adam Engstrom is rising to be an impactful defenceman. A young defenceman known for his strong two-way play and skating ability has quickly become a player to watch. His potential as a mobile, puck-moving defenceman has not gone unnoticed. With time, he could develop into a key contributor on Montreal’s blue line. He went +14 and has totalled 5 goals and 22 assists for 27 points in 66 games.
8. Jacob Fowler - GOALIE
Backup goalie Jacob Flower, a young 20-year-old from Florida, only played 14 games but had an impressive record of 9-3-1, with a 2.44 GAA and a 0.91 SVS%. With an impressive start and a playoff shutout in his second career start, he has great potential.
9. Lucas Condotta - D
At 27 years old, Condotta is a key player recognized for his dedication to the game both on and off the ice. Named AHL's man of the year for his community efforts, he is a fan favourite for all the energy and support he puts in. Even though he only scored 5 goals and 26 assists in 63 games, he still had a +5 +/- and 31 points. His presence is non-negotiable to the success of Laval.
10. David Reinbacher - D
Austrian player David Reinbacher unfortunately experienced an injury early in the season and resulted in the participation of only 10 games, where he scored 2 goals and 3 assists for 5 points and a +/- of +5.
