The benefits of acquiring forward Mason McTavish for the Montreal Canadiens

A coveted forward of the Anaheim Ducks, who is a Restricted Free Agent this year, has been connected to heavy rumours with the Montreal Canadiens, who are looking to improve their roster.

Mason McTavish will be a great addition to the middle-six lineup of the Montreal Canadiens

Mason McTavish is becoming a star forward in the NHL with the Anaheim Ducks franchise, and they may be looking to move him to add more of a veteran presence to fit into head coach Joel Quenneville's system of players on that team.

McTavish, as a player, has been connected to the GM of the Montreal Canadiens, Kent Hughes, who is putting together a package to acquire the young forward. Not to mention, offloading a contract that may be affecting the Habs' ability to make a serious splash in securing star players on the team itself.

McTavish would be a welcome addition to the second or third line, depending on how he presents himself on the ice with the team during games, if the Canadiens were to acquire him. They are a tweak away from securing a top-notch roster that will be able to compete night in and night out during the coming year.

McTavish, after playing 229 games, has accumulated 140 points during the past three seasons with the Ducks. During that span, however, he was unable to procure a more dominant record because of the team's inability to perform well during that span as well.

He is an active forward, however, who knows where to score goals in the most opportune moments and can get his team involved with the scoring touch as well. His chemistry on the second and third lines with the likes of forwards Alex Newhook and Josh Anderson.

If placed on the second line with a player like Patrick Laine, the top-six players on this team would be as dominant as ever, giving the Habs team an added level of dominance on the ice, with a superior level of speed, skill, grit, and physicality.

There would be strides that management would take to protect these forwards and give the Montreal Canadiens fans that level of confidence in their respective team. He would be a welcome addition to the club and present a more significant offensive threat alongside his linemates.

Mason McTavish needs a fresh start, and bringing him to Montreal would secure an all-star caliber player for the team's top-six lineup. Not to mention, the other forwards I have mentioned as potential acquisitions for the Canadiens team.
