Amazon, Rogers Communications, and the NHL announced a two-year deal in Canada to stream Monday Night Hockey exclusively on Prime Video. The Montreal Canadiens will be the inaugural team featured on the broadcast, taking on the Pittsburgh Penguins on Monday, October 14. The Canadiens will also be on the broadcast four more times.

Montreal Canadiens Monday Night Hockey Schedule

  • October 14th - Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Montreal Canadiens
  • November 18th - Edmonton Oilers vs. Montreal Canadiens
  • December 9th - Anaheim Ducks vs. Montreal Canadiens
  • January 6th - Vancouver Canucks vs. Montreal Canadiens
  • April 14th - Chicago Blackhawks vs. Montreal Canadiens

The games will be available at no extra cost to Prime subscribers in Canada, and will also feature other intriguing features and programs.

Prime Video and NHL Productions will host "NHL Coast To Coast", a weekly whiparound style show live on Thursday nights in Canada featuring live look-ins, highlights, and expert analysis.

There is also a docuseries coming from the producers of Netflix's Drive to Survive. It will follow around many of the league's top players. The league has often been criticized for failing to grow the game and reach the younger generation. The collaboration with Prime Video looks to be a massive step in that direction.
