EliteProspects used to be one of the top sites for checking out every hockey player's stats and info. However, they've branched out to create EPRinkside, a site that writes long-form content about prospects. Mitch Brown, David St. Louis, and JD Burke recently released their list of the top 100 NHL-affiliated prospects in the world. The EPRinkside branch is a paid-subscription service but worth the investment if you have an interest in the Montreal Canadiens prospect pool. The Canadiens had ten players crack the list, a testament to their deep pipeline.

  • 3. Ivan Demidov
  • 13. David Reinbacher
  • 27. Lane Hutson
  • 52. Joshua Roy
  • 72. Michael Hage
  • 76. Owen Beck
  • 95. Logan Mailloux

Ivan Demidov was the top-rated player, sitting behind Macklin Celebrini and Matvei Michkov. (Don't dwell on the fact the Canadiens could have two players in the top three.) The group predicts that Demidov could become the Montreal Canadiens' top scorer in his prime.

They describe David Reinbacher has a defensive, top-four blueliner. His upgraded puck-moving ability is a reason to get excited, and believes he could develop better in North America after EHC Kloten hurt him.

They believe Lane Hutson took a step back in his sophomore season, which is a compliment after recording 49 points in 38 games. They worry about his defensive skating and in-zone defending, but believe the sky is the limit.

The group sees Joshua Roy as a complementary player for the Canadiens' top scorers. He can plug holes when the depth falters and has above-average offensive ability.

Michael Hage landing on this list is a good honor considering it isn't just this year's draft class. They are impressed with his potential and can clearly see him landing in the top-six.

They see Owen Beck as a top-end, third-line centre on the Canadiens. Montreal greatly improved their forward depth this past offseason and Beck would be a fine complement on the third-line in a few years.

Logan Mailloux's position feels low, but they want to see him succeed again this season to show that its sustainable. Mailloux's 2022-23 season is a great start.
