Breaking Down Montreal Canadiens December 2024 Schedule
By Nate Duffett
The Montreal Canadiens have a busy December despite the holiday break. The schedule's highlight is a five-game homestand through the beginning of the month. However, there aren't many rivals mixed in that stretch. The month's first games are favorable, but it gets hard before the calendar turns to 2025, including the toughest stretch of their entire season.
- December 1st - 3:00 PM EST @ Boston Bruins
- December 3rd - 7:00 PM EST vs. New York Islanders
- December 5th - 7:00 PM EST vs. Nashville Predators
- December 7th - 7:00 PM EST vs. Washington Capitals
- December 9th - 7:30 PM EST vs. Anaheim Ducks
- December 12th - 7:00 PM EST vs. Pittsburgh Penguins
- December 14th - 7:00 PM EST @ Winnipeg Jets
- December 17th - 7:00 PM EST vs. Buffalo Sabres
- December 20th - 7:00 PM EST @ Detroit Red Wings
- December 21st - 7:00 PM EST vs. Detroit Red Wings
- December 23rd - 7:00 PM EST @ Columbus Blue Jackets
- December 28th - 1:00 PM EST @ Florida Panthers
- December 29th - 5:00 PM EST @ Tampa Bay Lightning
- December 31st - 3:00 PM EST @ Vegas Golden Knights
The month can't begin any better with a Sunday matinee against the Boston Bruins. The rivalry between the longtime rivals has been picking up in recent years, and it'll only get better as the Habs climb back into contention. It's a short road trip, as the Habs then return to the Bell Centre for a five-game homestand.
The Canadiens have a rare home-and-home series against the Red Wings on the last weekend before the holidays. They'll travel to Detroit for the opening game on Friday night, then return home for Hockey Night in Canada on Saturday night.
The Canadiens better enjoy their break, as they'll return for a three-game road trip against the Panthers, Lightning, and Golden Knights to end 2024. The three-game schedule right after the holiday break may be the hardest stretch of the season.
