There was a reason why the Montreal Canadiens made an effort to bring back Phillip Danault. He's not a center that is going to put up points at will. Rather, he will be a go-to option if you need help on defense. He showed that in Game 5, where he played in the final three minutes-plus to secure Montreal's 3-2 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning.
On Friday night, the save of Game 6 didn't come from Jakub Dobes. Rather, it came from Danault.
In the second period, Dobes was crowded by Lightning players, looking to put the puck past him. During the chaos, the puck squeaked between Dobes legs and looked destined to cross the line. But Danault had his stick at the right place at the right time, as the puck hit his stick, allowing Danault to clear it out of the zone for an icing.
Words simply can't do it justice. Take a look at the various camera angle provided by the Sportsnet broadcast.

Phillip Danault prevent Lightning from taking early Game 6 lead with incredible defensive play
This is why you bring in a player like Danault. He will help you out defensively. In this case, he singlehandedly prevented the Lightning from going up 1-0.
The fans in attendance at the Bell Centre, who were already fired up before even entering the arean, gave Danault a round of applause and loud cheers for his incredibly play. That was evident in the Canadiens' social media accounts clip after the play was shown on the jumbotron.

Both the Canadiens and Tampa Bay are going all out to take an lead in Game 6. If the Canadiens win, they will move onto the second round to take on either the Buffalo Sabres or Boston Bruins in the second round. If the Lightning win, they'd force a Game 7 in Tampa Bay on Sunday.
However this game ends, fans will undoubtedly be looking over Danault's defensive play.
