The Montreal Canadiens announced their 2025-2026 regular season schedule on Wednesday, and with the NHL taking a break for the Winter Olympics in February, the compressed schedule means the Canadiens will play 16 back-to-back games this season.
Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton unveiled the schedule in a skit alongside emergency backup goalie and SPVM officer Patrick Chèvrefils. Here are some key dates to circle on the calendar this season:

Oct. 8 @ Toronto & Oct. 9 @ Detroit
The Habs will begin the season with an Original Six road trip, and for the sixth consecutive year, they will open the season against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Following the back-to-back with Detroit, they will travel to Chicago to face the Blackhawks on the following Saturday.
Oct. 14 vs Seattle
The Habs will welcome fans back to the Bell Centre for their home opener on October 14, when they host the Seattle Kraken.
Oct. 22-25 @ Western Canada
The Habs will head out on their first Western road trip at the end of the month with stops in Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, and Seattle.
Nov. 15 vs Boston
The Habs will host their historic rivals, the Bruins, for the first time this season.
Nov. 20 vs Washington
After an intense first round in the playoffs last season, the Habs will welcome Ovechkin and the Capitals back to Montreal.
Nov. 26 @ Utah
The Habs will head out on another Western road trip at the end of the month with stops in Utah, Vegas, and Colorado.
Dec. 7 @ St. Louis
Zach Bolduc will face his former team for the first time as the Habs travel to St. Louis.
Dec. 20 vs Pittsburgh & Dec. 21 @ Pittsburgh
A back-to-back weekend matchup against Sidney Crosby and the Penguins.
Dec. 21-Jan. 4
As tradition, the Habs will be on the road with a seven-game road trip during the Christmas break, with a stop in Florida against the defending champs.
January will be the Canadiens' busiest month with 16 games, including a four-game home stand from Jan. 7-12.
Feb. 26 vs New York Islanders
There will be only four games in February as players head to Milano-Cortina for the Winter Olympics in Italy. One of those games is against the Islanders, as Noah Dobson faces his former team for the first time since being traded.
Mar. 3-7 @ California
The Habs head on their California road trip with stops in San Jose, Anaheim, and Los Angeles.
Apr. 14 @ Philadelphia
The Habs end their season with a four-game home stand, a back-to-back, and a season finale away in Philadelphia. An intense end to the schedule as the Habs hope to fight for a playoff spot at the end of the season.
