Throwback to 2014, Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals, Montreal Canadiens vs New York Rangers. Chris Kreider's skate collided with Price's leg, forcing the Habs' star goalie out of the series and giving the Rangers a massive advantage, which eventually led to the Rangers winning the series 4-2. While Rangers fans refer to it as a shove from Alexei Emelin that caused the collision, to Montreal fans and players, it was a premeditated "accidentally on purpose" hit to take the talented Price out of the picture.
Great clip from this week's episode with Brandon Prust talking about the Chris Kreider & Carey Price incident from the 2014 ECF. He shares the Rangers slogan back then of "accidentally on purpose."

Fast-forwarding to 2015, Price and Canadiens fans have certainly not forgotten about the lower-body injury that took them out of the Eastern Conference finals. Canadiens fans and the internet lost it when Kreider circled the Canadiens' net and levelled the forward with a body check, finishing it up by standing over him and looking down at him. Price was not penalized, stopped 25/25 shots on goal, and they won the game 3-0.
Known for his incredible goalkeeping and ridiculous saves, that bone-crushing body check was not his normal game activities. Twitter, Reddit, and Instagram were flooded with memes celebrating the revenge, even from other teams' fans.
Unfortunately, this is not a one-time development, as Kreider has an infamous reputation as a "goalie crasher," Throughout his career, Chris Kreider has a notable list of goalie victims that he has claimed to be entirely accidental, including Craig Anderson (Senators), Marc-Andre Fleury (Penguins), Viktor Fasth (Oilers), and Jaroslav Halak (Islanders).
With this impressive track record, the satisfying payback moment of Carey Price dropping Kreider to the ice caused an uproar of applause from hockey fans across the league. Tired of Kreider's crease-crashing antics, a rare moment where a goalie was the one to deliver the hit was a symbolic retaliation against the infamous goalie crasher.
