One of the big storylines coming out of the Olympics was the performance of Juraj Slafkovsky, who helped Slovakia reach the bronze medal game in a game they would ultimately lose to Team Finland. The Montreal Canadiens forward, though, had an incredible run during these Olympics and was tied for fourth in points with four goals and four assists in six games.

While he didn't leave the Olympics with a medal, he was named to the Olympics All-Star team. He was joined by forwards Macklin Celebrini and Connor McDavid, defensemen Cale Makar and Quinn Hughes, and goaltender Connor Hellebuyck.

Slafkovsky is no stranger to the Olympics and has now had two incredible performances after he had seven goals in seven games in the 2022 Olympics. It was one of the reasons the Montreal Canadiens would select him first overall in the NHL Draft a few months later.

Juraj Slafkovsky could use the Olympics to build on an already promising season with the Montreal Canadiens

While the Olympics are over, there is still plenty of work to be done for players like Juraj Slafkovsky as the NHL season is set to resume later this week. The Montreal Canadiens are going to need an Olympic-type performance from Slafkovsky for the remainder of the season as they work towards a playoff spot.

He has been a big reason for their success to this point, as he already has 21 goals and 24 assists through 57 games. Slafkovsky has already set a new career-high in goals and is only nine assists away from a career-high in that category as well.

The Canadiens forward entered the Olympic break on a bit of a hot streak with four points in four games. He was able to carry that over for Team Slovakia, and now the hope is he can continue that momentum for the stretch run to end the regular season with Montreal.
