The Montreal Canadiens now have all of the momentum in their second round series against the Buffalo Sabres. After a dominant 5-1 win in Game 2. It was a repeat performance for the Canadiens, as on Sunday night, they defeated the Sabres 6-2 to take a 2-1 series lead.

While Montreal's scoring waking up, the performance of Jakub Dobes can not be overlooked. Well for Game 3, Dobes made it difficult to ignore him. In the 6-2 victory, Dobes stopped 26-of-28 shots on goal. After the game, as he was interviewed on the ice, he could not get a word out as he was taken aback by the applause from Canadiens fans inside Bell Centre.

While speaking with reporters after Game 3, Brodin said that he's "not a hero" and that he's just "a goofy goalie that tries to stop pucks."

Jakub Dobes downplays being called 'hero' for Canadiens

"Trust me, I don't call myself a hero," said Dobes. "I will go home, eat, watch Game of Thrones and go to bed. I don't think that's anything heroic. When it's time to do my job, I will do anything to win."

Dobes doesn't want to be considered a hero. He downplayed it, saying that he is willing to do whatever it takes to help the Canadiens win.

Entering these playoffs, goaltending was considered a major weakness for Montreal, especially when comparing it to the other situations of the playoff teams. Yet, Dobes silenced the critics thus far in the playoffs.

In the first round against the Tampa Bay Lightning, Dobes recorded a 2.10 goals allowed average and a .923 save percentage through seven games. Those are great numbers, especially against a Lightning team with countless playoff experience and with Hart Trophy finalist Nikita Kucherov in the lineup.

Game 1 against the Sabres was a bit rough for Dobes, as he surrendered four goals on just 16 shots faced. But once Game 2 rolled around, Dobes turned on the switch yet again, and has given Buffalo problems. In Game 2, Dobes stopped 28-of-29 shots faced in the 5-1 victory. Then in Game 3, Dobes made 26 saves on 28 shots faced.

Dobes will look to continue his strong play on Tuesday night, with the hope of leading the Canadiens to a commanding 3-1 lead. Doing so in front of Canadiens fans may help with that goal as well. Game 3 was evident of that.
