The Montreal Canadiens and Ottawa Senators are two of the hottest teams in the Eastern Conference. The Habs are 7-1-2 over their last ten games, while the Sens are 7-2-1 over the same span. However, Ottawa has won six consecutive games and are beginning to run away with the first wild card spot. The Senators are five points ahead of the New York Rangers with two games in hand. However, the Canadiens have two games in hand on the Rangers and are just one point behind, which could make things interesting in the wild card race if they can steal a win off the Senators on Tuesday night.

The Canadiens have already won two games against the Senators this season, with the fourth game scheduled for April 11. The game on Tuesday night is the most-anticipated matchup in a long time between these two teams, but you can only imagine the hype for the April 11 game if the standings stay like this. We can only hope the teams are within a couple of points for the Canadiens' fourth-last game of the season.

Sam Montembeault vs. Linus Ullmark should be the best matchup on Tuesday. Montembeault has been lights out since the Four Nations Break, owning a 6-0-1 record with a 1.96 goals-against average and a .928 save percentage. Ullmark has also been performing well since getting healthy for the Senators, which includes a 47-save performance against the Detroit Red Wings a couple of games ago. With Ottawa finally owning a goalie who can steal their games, it should be an interesting end to the season.

The Canadiens offense has cooled off over the past five games, with Cole Caufield registering just six points to lead the team. However, Lane Hutson has four assists, adding to his stellar rookie season and furthering his resume to be the Calder Trophy winner. Brady Tkachuk has been the star for the Senators with three goals and three assists over the past five games, but they are also undefeated since acquiring Dylan Cozens at the trade deadline.
