The Montreal Canadiens get their final test of the road trip when the battle the Florida Panthers in a Sunday matinee. Montreal's road trip hasn't been beneficial to their playoff hopes, as they are 0-3 with some lopsided losses against the St. Louis Blues, Carolina Hurricanes, and Philadelphia Flyers. Unbelievably, the Canadiens are still in the playoff race, and they snuck back into the second wild card with the Columbus Blue Jackets' loss on Saturday. The Canadiens must find a way to salvage some points on the road trip before they head back to Montreal for their next four.

The Canadiens feel confident about their chances over the next week, as they embark on a five games in seven days gauntlet. The home-and-home series to start it off against the Panthers is a bit challenging, but the good news is they still aren't back to full health. The Panthers are looking a little bitter, as Brad Marchand made his debut on Friday night after getting acquired at the trade deadline.

The rest of the week gets simpler, as they finish the home stand with games against the Philadelphia Flyers, Boston Bruins, and Nashville Predators. The rest of the league may have done the Canadiens some favors to keep them in the second wild card position, but it's now time for Montreal to do some favors for themselves.

They'll need more from their offense, which is starting to stumble at the wrong time. Nick Suzuki has been their leading point scorer over the past five games, but he has just four points. The Canadiens need more depth scoring down the lineup if they want to continue their success over the Panthers this season.

Montreal outscored Florida 7-1 in their two games this season. It's a small sample size, but it could be one that spells bad news for the Canadiens. The chances of them sweeping the season series against the defending Stanley Cup Champions is unlikely.
