David Reinbacher is again out of the Laval Rocket lineup with an undisclosed injury. Pascal Vincent says the injury isn't serious, but fans have a right to wonder about the long-term health of one of their top prospects. It has been one too many injuries for the defenseman, especially this early in his career. The fans can only hope it's something that doesn't linger. However, we're here to ask what side of the fence you land on with the Reinbacher concerns?

The replies to this X post by @HabsOnReddit are a good read of the fans' take on Reinbacher's injuries. His knee injuries are starting to pile up, and many are worried that this new injury is another aggravation of that issue. Any other designation would be a better case scenario than this being another knee injury. However, as fans are known to do, everyone is thinking the worst case.

"Every injury with this kid is serious. I don’t believe there is a future for him in the NHL simply because he cannot stay healthy. I hate that and wish it wasn’t the case but it’s simply impossible to ignore the injury history. Kid is made of glass. "

I think this is a bit of a premature take. The injuries are concerning, no doubt, but let's not say there isn't a future for him in the NHL. Many young players have injury issues to start their careers, but they still have lengthy ones. Will the Canadiens maybe become more cautious with him? It's likely, but that doesn't mean we should already relegate him to a bust.

"Hopefully he gets all these injuries out of the way early so he can be an iron man moving forward."

This might be a bit too optimistic of a take. Injuries will always follow a player, they just don't have to define them. Reinbacher is a bigger-bodied defenseman who plays a physical game and doesn't mind putting his body at risk. Maybe he will play 70 games a year and have times where he is a little banged up, and that's fine.

"I think he’s fine, but I don’t see a single reason to play him again this season. He clearly came back early and is experiencing some soreness or tweaked something.

Let him rehab and gain strength over the entire offseason. Don’t risk his long-term outlook."

The most level-headed of the fan reactions from this latest Reinbacher injury. The reality is that Reinbacher will always be a polarizing player in the Canadiens' organization because of the drama in his draft selection. The fans wanted Matvei Michkov and Reinbacher's selection threw them off. The masses will always compare his career to Michkov's, whether we like it or not. It's a difficult uphill battle for the Austrian defenseman.
