The Washington Capitals don't have a whole lot of fire power on paper, which is surprising given they were the top team in the Eastern Conference. It's the reason why a series with the Capitals was the best-case scenario for the defensively-shaky Canadiens. However, in order for the Canadiens to take advantage of the lack of firepower, they have to find a way to shut down the stars they do have.

Alex Ovechkin had a superstar performance in Game 1 with two goals, one being his first-career playoff overtime winner. Ovechkin also added a goal in Game 3. However, the NHL's all-time leading goalscorer hasn't been the player the Canadiens had to look out for, as Dylan Strome is having a dominant first round.

Strome had a goal and four assists through the first three games before opening the scoring in a crucial Game 4 for the Canadiens. The new starting goaltender, Jakub Dobes, had a phenomenal start to the game, but the lone lowlight was the goal from Strome. Dobes kicked a rebound into the slot for Strome to give the Capitals a lead.

Strome has been red-hot dating back to the end of the regular season, recording six goals and eight assists over his past ten games. He is a thorn in the side of the Canadiens in this series, and they must find a way to slow him down if they want to find a way to get back into it. Montreal has done a fine job of not allowing any of the Capitals' depth players to add to Washington's scoring.

It's now up to Montreal's defense to slow Strome and their forwards to start outscoring Washington's top lines. It won't be easy to go on the road to Washington and extend the series if they fail to win Game 4.
