Canadiens fans should keep a close eye on four undrafted players at World Juniors

The Canadiens and their fans are in the familiar position of watching draft eligible players.

Michael Misa was a controversial omission from Team Canada, but it makes sense for them to take Porter Martone as an underager instead. Martone has a better physical makeup to hold up over an entire tournament against players much older, and he has been no slouch in the OHL this season. Martone has 54 points in 26 games and fits the mold as the type of player the Canadiens value. Keep an eye on Martone, as if he is available to the Canadiens in June, it could be a Juraj Slafkovsky situation where they take him surprisingly.

Slafkovsky catapulted to the top of draft boards because of some international success, and this could be the start of something special for Martone.
