Canadiens fans should keep a close eye on four undrafted players at World Juniors

The Canadiens and their fans are in the familiar position of watching draft eligible players.

It's no secret that the Montreal Canadiens will likely get another top-five pick in the 2025 NHL Draft. They are currently third-last in the league and are on a trajectory to finish around that position if the Nashville Predators and Buffalo Sabres figure it out at some point and rise the standings. If not, the Canadiens could end up on the outside looking in of the top five, which could cause them some problems.

The projected top five is an elite group, but there are more significant questions with the group in the 6-10 range. The good news for the Canadiens and their fans is that three of the projected top five will be playing at the World Juniors, giving them something to follow as the tournament continues over the holiday season. Montreal hopes they won't have to worry about it next season, but there is also a top projected pick from the 2026 NHL Draft that the Canadiens can watch if next season does go south.

Currently, there won't be many players we can watch at the World Juniors. Rasmus Bergqvist is the only player making the trip to Ottawa for the tournament, as players like Aatos Koivu and Michael Hage were left off their respective rosters.
