Toronto Maple Leafs
Evans in a Toronto Maple Leafs uniform would hurt much more than the Mike Matheson suggestion I made in a different article. However, the good news is that Evans would be strictly a rental, as the Maple Leafs have even less cap room to sign him in the offseason. The Maple Leafs are looking for a third-line center who can add depth through the middle of the lineup and keep William Nylander on the wing, and Evans could be the perfect fit.
Many teams graded Evans as a fourth-line center heading into this season, but his offensive explosion has made people look at him as a possible middle-of-the-lineup guy. He wouldn't need to go any higher than the third line in Toronto, which makes him a great fit.
