Mike Matheson is as polarizing a player as the Montreal Canadiens have seen in a long time. He has been one of the Habs' most consistent defensemen through the rebuild, and has rebuilt himself as an offensive threat. Matheson isn't as bad as parts of the fanbase would tell you, but he may not be as valuable as Nick Suzuki and Martin St. Louis would have you believe, either. Matheson won't likely stay around through the end of the offseason, so the Canadiens may as well cash in now and acquire some assets.
