Daniil Tarasov could be the least challenging and least exciting goaltender to acquire to replace Primeau. The problem is that he isn't a massive improvement over the struggling goaltender. Tarasov has a 4.04 goals-against average and a .861 save percentage. Could the Canadiens seek out a one-for-one deal to give both goaltenders a fresh start? With one-year remaining in his deal, it could make the most sense and then the team would end up sending down Tarasov and recalling Dobes anyway if it doesn't work out.
