The Calgary Flames entered the 2024-25 season with a tandem of Dan Vladar and Dustin Wolf. The team believed it could take Wolf an entire season of being a tandem before he became the team's full-time starter. The timeline made sense, as Vladar was in the last year of his contract and could give Wolf the reins after the 2024-25 season.

Wolf has been lights out this season, owning an 8-4 record with a 2.59 goals-against average and a .918 save percentage. Vladar has also been good, owning a 2.65 goals-against average and a .904 save percentage. However, it could interest the Flames to use the last year of Vladar's deal to acquire some help in other parts of their roster.

The Flames could recall Devin Cooley from the American Hockey League, who has a 12-3 record, a 1.84 goals-against average, and a .940 save percentage. If the Flames need someone to take Cooley's spot in the AHL, Primeau could be someone who goes the other way.

Would a defender like Arber Xhekaj or Justin Barron interest the Flames enough to move Vladar?
