The Montreal Canadiens rookies started their training camp already and the team’s main training camp will be underway soon.

With that fast approaching, many players are already in Montreal, and the team assembled for their annual golf tournament earlier this week. Team management was asked about the health status of the team, and said everyone was good to go at that time, except for Christian Dvorak.

It was announced that Dvorak would need to see his surgeon one more time but did not yet have the green light to join training camp as a full participant. With all of the injuries the Canadiens have suffered in the past two years, it would have been understandable for a Habs fan to see the worst case scenario immediately.

We have seen many injuries linger months longer than initially expected in Montreal lately, and a simple explanation like he is still waiting for a green light may as well have been a death announcement for players over the past two seasons.

It seems like the Dvorak situation could be cleared up quickly though. He was actually on the ice with his teammates already and though he is still not medically cleared officially, he appears much closer than originally expected.

According to Arpon Basu of The Athletic, Dvorak is skating in Brossard which is a great sign since he was expected to miss the start of the season. He still needs to get official clearance to return to game action, but he appears to be pretty close if he is skating already and training camp hasn’t begun yet.

That is some good news, as the Habs could be opening training camp with a fully healthy roster. After the past two seasons where the injured list was longer than the active roster, this is a great way to start the new season.
