74 Players invited to Canadiens camp
Players will gather in Brossard tomorrow at the Bell Sports Complex for physicals and off-ice testing, before actually taking the ice on Thursday. The full list of players can be seen here.
The Canadiens will play eight preseason games this year, starting on September 26th against the New Jersey Devils. Their final two exhibition games are part of the Kraft Hockeyville games that will be played in Eastern Canada. The Habs and Sens will play on October 6th in Gander, Newfoundland and October 8th in Bouctouche, New Brunswick.
That will give them four days to return to Montreal and get set for their season opener on October 12th against the Toronto Maple Leafs at the Bell Centre.
The Canadiens enter camp with a long list of veteran forwards as well as an exciting group of young prospect defencemen who are pushing to make the NHL lineup. It will be interesting to keep an eye on what veterans end up being pushed off the roster up front, and which kids force their way onto the roster on the back end.
Fresh off a great rookie tournament, 2022 draft picks Owen Beck, Filip Mesar and Juraj Slafkovksy will be looking to make a positive impression with the NHL club.
