The Montreal Canadiens are a little under a month away from puck drop on the 2022-23 season. They will kick things off in a home opener against the Toronto Maple Leafs, one of their big rivals. The Habs have released their schedule already, and there are plenty of matchups to circle moving forward.

For the Montreal Canadiens, being solid on the road is going to be helpful for the team to bounce back during the 2022-23 season. They are coming off the 2021-22 season, where the Habs produced an 11-23-7 record on the road. While they had the same amount of wins on home ice as well, they have to be hoping for a better performance overall.

Besides the point, their away schedule this year is a chance for them to build momentum on a road trip out west, take a season series with a rival, or fend off the division from someone like the Boston Bruins or Tampa Bay Lightning.

While it is a tough ask with the Canadiens needing their young guns to really start finding their way in 2022-23, the road matchups are intriguing. There are some games that fans could really be looking forward to, even with the season still on the horizon.

Between rivalry games, homecomings for new players, or (relatively) new territory like Seattle, the road schedule will still be exciting. While the Habs have an uphill climb on the season, needing to come out and right the ship, there are reasons to be looking forward to the 2022-23 season.

Here are three Montreal Canadiens road games to be excited about.
