The Montreal Canadiens will be hosting their annual rookie camp ahead of their main training camp this year, and have finally released the details of the event.

The rookie camp, which often features a few recent draft picks and a handful of invited players who are likely heading to the ECHL or back to University hockey somewhere in Canada, looks a little different for the Canadiens in 2022.

This camp features 28 players and will have a couple of invitees involved, but many of the players have a very real chance of making the NHL within the next couple of seasons. The Canadiens have drafted well lately and acquired young players in trades that have bolstered the prospect cupboards and the list of players taking part in rookie camp is a reminder of how bright the future looks for the organization.

The roster is headlined by first overall pick Juraj Slafkovky as well as fellow 2022 first round selection Filip Mesar. Recent first rounders Kaiden Guhle, Logan Mailloux and Justin Barron are also among the young players that will be in attendance.

The full list of players includes 15 forwards, ten defencemen and three goaltenders. The players are as follows:

Forwards: Owen Beck, Lucas Condotta, Jared Davidson, Pierrick Dube, Ryan Francis, Cedrick Guindon, Emil Heineman, Riley Kidney, Filip Mesar, Jan Mysak, John Parker-Jones, Joshua Roy, Xavier Simoneau, Juraj Slafkovsky, Brett Stapley.

Defencemen: Justin Barron, Santino Centorame, Gianni Fairbrother, Kaiden Guhle, Jordan Harris, Logan Mailloux, Mattias Norlinder, Miguel Tourigny, William Trudeau, Arber Xhekaj.

Goaltenders: Antoine Coulombe, Riley Mercer, Joe Vrbetic.

These players will gather together Wednesday, before heading to Buffalo on Thursday for the prospects showcase tournament. They will play games against a team of prospects from the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday, the New Jersey Devils on Friday and the Ottawa Senators on Sunday.

The Canadiens main training camp is scheduled to begin next Wednesday, September 21st.
